I grew up in a different time, but, for me, I would find magic in nature- and still do. I remember going on ‘field trips’ in school and on one such excursion gong to the coast and exploring tidal pools during low tide and adventuring out to a place called ‘shell island’ that was only accessible during low tide. Often, magic is right in front of our face, but, we don’t recognize it.
“It’s easy to believe in magic when you’re young. Anything you couldn’t explain was magic then. It didn’t matter if it was science or a fairy tale. Electricity and elves were both infinitely mysterious and equally possible — elves probably more so.” ~ Charles de Lint.
