I love the way you wrote this. Today was like I had awoken from the Early Jurassic time zone and found myself in a record store. The employees with snow on the chimney looked at me as if I were some long lost sibling that had wandered in from the jungle. This particular record store is more than just a record store; it has a history; it is a part of my history. It was around in the late 60’s and early 70’s when “head shops” lined the streets and wafts of incense, patchouli and various other alchemical odors filled the air. It has survived the advent and demise of the 8-track, the casette, the CD and now is still holding its ground against the changing tide of streaming downloads to see the re-emergence of vinyl as a viable audio experience. Thank you for your witty and engaging article.
