I love this story. I have many fond memories of times I have spent in National Parks, although I never worked in a gift store. I was doing trail maintenance in Washington one time and the section of trail we were responsible for ended on a ridge just above a canyon staring across at the foot of Mt. Rainier. You have also jarred the memory of a National Park ‘Guide’ I met on a trail in Zion. I hope you share more of your stories of your stints in the National Parks. I also like the way you write.
