It seems like a British perspective, although some things ring true in the U.S. as well. The only thing I take issue with is your idea about German cars, after all, they originated the VW Bug which became an icon in the U.S. in the 60’s. I believe the corporate acceptance of creativity originated with Steve Jobs and Apple. His use of “elegant” font on Apple OS, inspired by the Calligraphy class taught by Lloyd J. Reynolds at Reed College was a game-changer. I actually had the good fortune of taking a calligraphy class from an apprentice of Lloyd’s.
